Special Olympics Artistic Gymnastics

 

Description: 

Ages 8+

Flip, tumble, and roll your way into Artistic Gymnastics. Participants will learn the ins and outs of using the balance beam, parallel bars, and other equipment.

 

The goals of this program are to improve coordination, balance, endurance, and core strength in preparation for the Special Olympics Competition. 

 

(20 Weeks)

 

All athletes must have a current Special Olympics Medical Application on file with FVSRA. Participants should dress in clothes that allow for stretching and movement. Athletes will be training to compete in the Special Olympics District Meet tentatively scheduled for Sun. Mar 5. Athletes who win a gold medal will be registered to compete at the 2017 Summer State Games. There will be a separate fee of $75 for extra practices and staffing at the competition. Please note the practice times for males and females. The two practices are split due to the different events each practice.

  Fall 2016 Season:

Males -- Wednesdays -- 10/12-12/14 & 1/4-3/1 -- 4:00 PM-5:30 PM

Females -- Wednesdays -- 10/12-12/14 & 1/4-3/1 -- 5:30-7:00pm
