Special Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a dance-based sport that uses props such as ribbons, hoops, balls, and clubs. Lessons are scheduled in 30-minute intervals. The instructor will schedule lesson times prior to the first class.
The goal of this program is to encourage the development of motor skills and coordination in preparation for the Special Olympics competition.
(Session One, Two and Three: 19 Weeks)
All athletes must have a current Special Olympics Medical Application on file with FVSRA. Participants should dress for comfort in clothes that allow for stretching and movement. Athletes will be training to compete in the Special Olympics District Competition tentatively scheduled for Sunday, March 5. Athletes who win a gold medal will be registered to compete at the 2017 Summer State Games. There will be a separate fee of $75 for additional practices and staffing down state.
