FVSRA and Rosary High School Team Up for Day of Service
AURORA – On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) welcomed 30 Rosary High School students and teachers in a student-led partnership to better our community.
“Rosary has been a wonderful partner over the many years serving together,” said Support Staff Manager Brian Houzenga. “We are grateful for all that they do for our community.”
The collaboration accomplished important projects to launch FVSRA into the Summer activity season. Tasks included preparing supplies for in-person and virtual programs, creating visual therapeutic communication cards, inventorying athletic uniforms and interior vehicle cleaning.
“We are more powerful together,” said Executive Director Alex Engelhardt. “Fulfilling our mission of empowering people with special needs cannot be done without the support of volunteers of all ages willing to see a need and rise to the challenge.”
Registration for FVSRA’s Summer session opens Monday, May 17. Over 90 programs are available and span ten weeks including fishing, volleyball, campfire movie night, coffee club and a discovery series exploring historical and local attractions of FVSRA’s service area.
