Covid-19 Updates

(Updated 8/27/2021)

Dear FVSRA Friends and Families,

Due to recent mask reinstatement mandate from Governor Pritzker, effective Monday, August 30, 2021, all FVSRA employees, participants, and visitors are required to wear a mask/face covering when at an indoor program or an FVSRA program location (outdoor programs are excluded from the requirement).

Here are some basic assumptions, but please note there may be modifications based on the program type, location, etc. which do not fit neatly into these categories.

Indoor Programs (non-aquatics):

  • Masks and physical distance are required regardless of vaccination status

  • Staff may be unable to provide support within 6ft of physical space

  • There may be mask free zones when physical distancing can be maintained and enforced (such as eating and drinking or when everyone is seated and distancing is maintained)

  • There is no carve-out for athletic practices or competition.

Indoor Aquatics:

  • Face shields are required for instructors when 6ft cannot be maintained.

  • Masks are required while on the pool deck, locker rooms, entering/exiting facility, etc. for patrons and instructors regardless of vaccination status.

  • Masks are not to be worn in the pool.

There are no changes to outdoor programs. Below are the current procedures.

Outdoor Programs (Not Athletics):

Non-Vaccinated: Masks are required when physical distancing is not possible.

Vaccinated: Masks are not required.

Outdoor Programs (Athletics*):

  • Masks are not required for athletic programs during competition and practice activities regardless of vaccination status.

  • Masks MAY be necessary in the dugout/bench, or other community area, etc. for non-vaccinated participants and spectators.
