Aurora University Therapeutic Recreation Students host fundraiser for Reins of Change and FVSRA

On behalf of Aurora University's REC 2250 (Therapeutic Recreation), we are fundraising for our event titled "Lucky Charms In The Barn".

Our program is being made from the ground up connecting two foundations, Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) and Reins of Change. Fox Valley Special Recreation Association is a program that assists and integrates individuals with intellectual disabilities into the community. Reins of Change is an Equine Assisted Therapy program that assists clients in personal growth and creating an environment for positive change.

Lucky Charms In The Barn is a one-day event for the adults in the FVSRA Stars Program and Reins of Change. The event will be incorporating various activities for the adults with the horses at Reins of Change.

Missions for each program:

Reins of Change

  • "Reins of Change is dedicated to providing mental health, personal growth and educational services for people by offering a variety of programs to create positive change for children, adolescents, and adults."

Fox Valley Special Recreation Association Adult Day Program

  • "Day Break Adult Day Programs strive to improve each participant’s quality of life by maximizing each individual's independence and developing additional abilities. Goals are met by providing opportunities for community integration through various activities and volunteer outings."

We would appreciate it if you considered donating to our event to provide our FVSRA adults with an amazing opportunity.

Please contact Kris Johnson (University Instructor) if you have any questions!
