Foundation Manager

FVSRA has an exciting opportunity available as a Foundation Manager in Aurora, IL. The Foundation Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the Foundation fund development strategies, fundraising events and annual giving campaigns.  The Foundation Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and also works cooperatively with the Foundation Board and other staff in the research and submittal of grants and funding applications.
Compensation: Annual, full time, $60k plus depending on experience

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field conducive to fundraising success (Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Communications, Public Relations, Parks and Recreation, Business).

  • Minimum of five years of non-profit/foundation fundraising experience; financial and event management, fund development, sponsor solicitation, donor relations, and strategic planning is required

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with proven grant writing and research skills

  • Excellent computer fluency, effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite as well as Network for Good or comparable donor management and fundraising software.

  • Highly organized and exceptional attention to details, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must be able to work collaboratively as a member of a team.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule for events as well as travel in and around the community by utilizing a personal vehicle or other methods of transportation.  The hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; however, work day evening hours, holidays, and weekends may be required. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work cooperatively with the Executive Director, Marketing Manager and Foundation Board to position FVSRA and the Foundation to gain the support of individuals, corporations, foundations, donors and service clubs.

  2. Develop and implement a fund development strategy to meet the current and future needs of the Foundation.

  3. Identify, initiate, and establish relationships with various community stakeholders.

  4. Research and submit grants and funding proposals for the Foundation as needed.

  5. Actively lead and work cooperatively with all fundraising event committees.

  6. Prepare and manage the budgets of all fundraising events.

  7. Arrange and implement presentations to corporations and community groups regarding fundraising event sponsorships and contributions.

  8. Create donor reports and perform analytics for patterns, trends and to draw actionable conclusions and identify fundraising opportunities

  9. Obtain donated goods and service for use at fundraising events.

  10. Coordinate arrangements with facilities and other vendors associated with the implementation of fundraising events.

  11. Oversee the utilization of volunteers for events and office related projects.

  12. Assist with the processing of event registrations.

  13. Manage the recognition of the support and involvement of event sponsors, contributors and volunteers.

  14. Develop an Annual Giving Program to solicit annual contributions.

  15. Attend board and committee meetings of the FVSR Foundation.

  16. Update and maintain donor management system.

  17. Research and develop future fundraising activities.

  18. Assist in maintaining the agency safety program.

  19. Perform other reasonable duties related to the position as assigned by the Executive Director.

The Foundation Manager must, with or without reasonable accommodations, be able to perform the following functions:

  1.  Gather, load, transport and set-up equipment and supplies for events.

  2. Reach storage cabinets or areas to place or retrieve binders or documents.

  3. Keyboard information efficiently with a high accuracy rate, for periods of up to an hour or more without a break.

  4. Ability to lift 30 pounds. 



This job operates in an office setting occasionally assisting with larger Agency Programs or Foundation events.  The noise level can range from quiet to loud. When working indoors conditions may include different types of lighting and temperatures. Working outdoors may include exposure to different types of weather conditions. Exposure to elements may occur when driving to meetings or assisting with Agency programs or Foundation events.
